Exorcist 2 Reel Version!

One Of my favorite digests and also one of my first big film projects. A little over a year ago I traded my print of Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge for reels 2 and 3 of the 3 reel version of The Exorcist. Many people might ask why would I purposely want the last 2 reels of the three reel version? It opened up opportunity for me to look for a copy of the 400'digest. It was a long search over a year, but I finally found a cheap good color copy. The color is very similar to the 2 reels I already had. Before editing I watched the entire Exorcist movie on DVD. I then wrote down everything that happened in every scene so that I knew what was happening in the scenes with my silent editor. A little over an hour later of editing I ended up with 1 overflowing 400' and a really full 400' reel. This version skips most of the boring parts in the beginning where the mom is acting. It does contain the best scenes where Reagan is flipping out in the bed , and the full exorcism scene. All in all it is one of my favorite films in my collection. Be sure to stay tuned for my review of my 3x400' Wolfman staring Lon Chaney Jr.

The Wizard of Oz MGM Digest

     The Wizard of Oz Digest

When going to Minnesota this summer on vacation we went to several antique stores that's where I picked this up. They were asking $39.99 but I ended up getting it for $34.99. That was at the start of out vacation so I had to wait several days to watch. As soon as I got home I put the new DNE bulb in my GAF 3000S and threaded up my new 400' Pilo-Magic reel. This starts off with a shortened credit sequence and Judy Garland sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." The whole film is basically all music and singing. I love the box art on this one (see pics below.) I would love to see this one as a 3X400' Digest or even a 2X400' version. Both this digest and the full feature are available on Super 8 format. This can go for around $20-$45   on e-Bay. Its defiantly worth picking up for not only a fan of the movie or just digest collectors I personally love this digest. (It was also my first :)

Hope You All Come Back To My Blog
